About UNH Professional Development & Training (PD&T)
UNH Professional Development & Training (formerly UNH Continuing Education (DCE), now part of the Graduate School) offers a variety of one-day noncredit workshops and seminars, short-term certificate programs, and conferences and institutes to adults who want to develop new professional skills or enhance their current skills.
In addition to professional development opportunities, PD&T offers seminars or short courses that can be used either for professional development or personal enrichment, such as foreign languages, cultural studies, art, writing, photography, computer skills, etc.

PD&T utilizes a mix of UNH faculty and experts from business, industry, and the nonprofit sector.
We're Seeking Additional New Offerings
PD&T is currently seeking to expand its variety of offerings and invites experts to submit proposals for new noncredit seminars, workshops, short courses, institutes, or conferences.
About the Proposal Process
Once you have submitted your proposal (over the the web, by fax, or by mail), a program developer with PD&T will be in contact with you to discuss your proposal.
Criteria for Reviewing Proposals
Proposals will be reviewed on the basis of the following considerations:
--Audience targeted
--Need or interest in the marketplace
--Expertise of the instructor
--Timing and format of the program
--Cost of program and financial risk involved
--Marketability and ease of promotion
Because PD&T is dedicated to serving adults, only those proposals that are geared to adults will be considered.
Salary for Instruction
If your proposal is accepted and we decide to offer your program, we will negotiate a salary with you for your services. Note: If you are a UNH faculty member be sure to make your dean aware that you are submitting a proposal. If we decide to offer the program, you will receive supplemental pay from Professional Development & Training.

PD&T currently offers over 200 noncredit seminars, short-term Certificate Programs, and special conferences and institutes each semester in:

- project management
- business writing and communication
- sales and marketing
- human resources, training, and coaching
- teaching and school administration
- social work and counseling
- surveying and soil science
- engineering management
- nutritional counseling
- occupational therapy
- physical therapy
- other health-related areas
- web design and development
- desktop publishing
- graphic arts
- and more

Some Possible Topic Areas for New Offerings
Additional experts in the above named fields in which we already offer programs are sought, as well as experts in fields such as architecture, construction management, science and technology, painting and the arts for teachers and other professionals, professional writing, foreign languages, finance, accounting, budgeting, professional photography, healthcare, as well as others that may be identified.
Offerings must be geared to adults who are seeking professional development to enhance their current careers or to develop new careers.
Location of PD&T Offerings
Programs are held at Pease in Portsmouth, in Manchester, and on the Durham campus. Conferences are held at venues for larger groups.
Program Proposal Process

2) A program developer and the marketing director in PD&T will review your proposal and a program developer will contact you.
